The Thinker statue is one of the most famous sculptures by Auguste Rodin. The Thinker by Auguste Rodin was meant to be a part of a commission by the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris to sculpt a monumental door (gateway to hell) based on The Divine Comedy of Dante. The Thinker has been named by Auguste Rodin as The Poet. The Thinker statue was meant to represent Dante himself at the top of the GATES OF HELL. The figure of The Thinker has even a broader meaning as it's showing a man in meditation, struggling internally in his mind. The pose of The Thinker by Auguste Rodin, with hand to the chin and right elbow to the left knee, gives a profound, contemplative feel.

The Thinker (Dante), which depicts the lovers in an embrace of love and desire, is considered by many as the only sculpture that really shows feelings and passion between two people in love.

Dark Bronze Finish: The sculpture is made of a layer of bronze on cold smelting of cooper, with the base of graphite or marble dust. The bronze finish is furthermore polished and given oxidized baths to obtain the desired color.
