Edgar Degas (July 19, 1834 - September 27, 1917) was a French painter and sculptor. Although he is mainly only known as painter, he is also a genious sculptor. In 1881 he showed The little dancer of fourteen years, his only sculpture exhibited during his life. After the Last Impressionist exhibition in 1886, Degas stopped sending works to exhibitions. This has been the ONLY sculpture he ever showed to the public during his life. Now you can see the original piece in Musee d'Orssay in Paris, France... ...or you can have your own "Ballet Dancer of fourteen years" created by the the famous spanish sculptor Luis Martin Duque.
